CMC change impact: finding the hidden regulatory dependencies

A structured approach to assess how one manufacturing change propagates across evidence, dossiers, commitments, and markets.

Published by eeRegOS 10 min read

A manufacturing change rarely stays within one function. A new supplier, site, scale, method, specification, or packaging configuration may affect validation, comparability, stability, approved content, and reporting categories across several markets.

Create the dependency map

Connect materials, process parameters, quality attributes, methods, batches, stability programs, validation evidence, dossier sections, commitments, and market approvals.

Separate scientific and filing questions

First determine what evidence is scientifically necessary to understand the change. Then determine how each authority expects the change to be reported. Treating these as one question can obscure both.

Preserve the decision trail

Record the trigger, assessment team, evidence reviewed, assumptions, jurisdictional conclusions, approvals, and follow-up commitments.

Further regulatory context

Read medical device regulatory definitions and authoritative references. Explore the workflows eeRegOS supports.
